It definitely has a great beginning. Shelton, Merry, Harmony, Melody and I are heading for a trip to Guatemala. It will start out with Melody in Mexico, for a week; then we go to Guate for another three weeks with the rest of the group. My friends in Guate are excited that we are coming, I get to be with a few of "my" children that are left at the orphanage, see the country I left some of my heart in, hear the language again, even eat beans and tortillas. :) I am really excited about this trip and God is so good to let me go! I will miss everyone when I go, but coming home is always such fun too.
When I come home I have no idea what my year will hold. Work, certainly, some fun, lot's of learning and I know that even though it can be so frightening to have God take your requests literally, I ask Him for wisdom, for understanding. I am well aware He best gives that through practical experience, so I know that my year could be another interesting one. But God has never let me down yet, and I know He watches over me night and day and loves me very jealously.
1. What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer.
2. Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
3. Are we weak and heavy laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In his arms he'll take and shield thee;
thou wilt find a solace there.
And my heart says, Amen.
